Background

One of our recent design concepts for 3no. 3-storey apartment blocks in East Belfast. The site slopes gradually to the northern side of the site and drops off drastically, supported by high retaining retaining walls.

Approach

The proposed apartments take advantage of the site’s prominence to focus views to the west, over Belfast. The composition of the 3 blocks creates a small village-like streetscape, keeping the main access road and parking to the side which faces the views, keeping lines of sight unimpeded by other buildings.

Through careful positioning of native planting, trees helps to enclose the scheme, enhancing the beauty of the surroundings but also promotes a healthier and more sustainable living environment. Its a place where people can thrive, neighbours can connect and everyone can enjoy the benefits of a remote community close to the busy city.
